BEDFORD RAILROAD STATION was built in 1873 by the
Middlesex Central Railroad. The building was a focal point in Bedford
for many decades. Passengers bought tickets from the agent there for
travel to Boston, Concord and Billerica. A Railway Express office
handled shipments of parcels. The B&M Railroad decommissioned the
Depot in 1958; and the Town acquired the property in 1999. In 2014 the
historical building was renovated and is where the stone carving classes
reside!
